Forecast models from the National Weather Service and private sources indicate Atlanta will see mostly sunny conditions Wednesday morning with highs potentially reaching the lower 90s before afternoon instability triggers scattered thunderstorms. This convection, driven by returning moisture and a weak front, is expected to increase cloud cover and evaporative cooling, often causing temperatures to peak early then fall several degrees into the mid-80s. Historical August baselines near 88°F, combined with variable storm timing across ensemble runs, explain the tight market clustering around 88–93°F buckets. Updated model guidance and afternoon observations will refine the exact maximum before resolution.
