Both players advanced through the draw with solid recent performances, though Jeong posted more consistent results in the lead-up events at Changwon and Andong, including straight-set wins over lower-ranked opponents. As a Korean player competing at home, Jeong benefits from familiar conditions and crowd support on the hard surface, while the matchup lacks prior head-to-head history to provide additional context.
