**Official National Weather Service forecasts from the Peachtree City office project a daytime high near 92–93°F for Atlanta on September 21 under mostly sunny skies, with only a 20% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms after 3 p.m.** This aligns with the market’s leading outcomes (92–93°F at 39.0% and 90–91°F at 36.5%), reflecting trader confidence in surface heating under clear to partly cloudy conditions and light winds that allow temperatures to climb efficiently before any convection develops. Key differentiating factors include the timing and intensity of any afternoon storms, which could introduce cooling via cloud cover, evaporative cooling from rain, or earlier mixing of cooler air. Model guidance and climatological analogs for late-September Atlanta show highs typically in the upper 80s to low 90s when moisture and weak steering flow limit strong heating, creating the tight clustering around the 88–93°F bins. Heat-index values near 98°F underscore the role of high boundary-layer humidity in amplifying perceived warmth, though the actual maximum temperature hinges on whether skies remain predominantly clear through peak heating hours. Upcoming updates from the NWS or refined model runs will likely sharpen resolution as the day progresses, with any earlier or stronger convective initiation tilting odds toward the 90–91°F or 88–89°F ranges.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=katl
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
