The IPO refers to the first sale of stock by the listed company to the public on any recognized stock exchange. If the listed company undergoes a merger, this will only qualify for a “No” resolution if the transaction results in the listed company being fully absorbed, dissolved, or otherwise no longer capable of independently conducting an Initial Public Offering. Transactions in which the listed company continues as a parent or successor will not alone qualify for a “No” resolution. This market will resolve early if the listed company completes an IPO by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. The resolution source for this market is a consensus of credible reporting.Strong equity market conditions and a maturing backlog of late-stage private companies, particularly in technology and AI, have fueled a sharp rebound in U.S. IPO activity through mid-2026, with traditional offerings raising over $114 billion in the first half—more than seven times the prior-year pace—and multiple $1 billion-plus deals completed. Lower Treasury yields, anticipated SEC deregulation, and improved risk appetite support broader sector participation and larger transaction sizes, while Goldman Sachs estimates point to roughly $160 billion in full-year proceeds if momentum holds. Key near-term catalysts include pending filings from high-profile names and potential rate-path clarity from the Federal Reserve, though geopolitical risks and valuation recalibrations remain swing factors for deal timing into late 2026. Trader consensus on Polymarket reflects these dynamics, pricing in high implied probability of additional IPOs before year-end 2026.
