Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Los Angeles on September 21 project a daily minimum in the mid-60s, driven by persistent onshore southwest flow and increasing marine layer clouds that limit overnight radiative cooling. This setup typically caps cooling compared to clear-sky conditions, aligning with recent days' observed lows in the mid-to-upper 60s amid above-average September warmth. Model consensus from GFS and local guidance shows modest disagreement on fog depth and wind speeds, which could shift the low by a few degrees. Traders appear to weigh these variables against the historical average low near 63°F, positioning the 68-69°F outcome as the leading implied probability while lower buckets reflect potential for stronger marine influence. Updated NWS briefings and overnight observations will provide the final resolution data.
