Current forecasts from NOAA and regional models point to a mild overnight low in New York City on September 1, with consensus centering on 72–73 °F amid humid southwesterly flow and lingering cloud cover from showers. Persistent warm, moist advection from the Atlantic, combined with limited radiational cooling under partly to mostly cloudy skies, is keeping minimum temperatures well above the 1991–2020 average of 65.7 °F. Trader sentiment clusters tightly around 72–75 °F because small differences in forecast timing of cloud breaks or wind speeds can shift the low by just a degree or two, while the overall warm pattern remains stable. Updated model runs and evening observations will refine the exact minimum before market resolution.
