Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Seattle points to a Monday night low in the mid-50s Fahrenheit on August 31, driven by a stable maritime air mass, light northerly winds, and partly cloudy skies that limit radiative cooling. This aligns closely with the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 55.4 °F for the date and follows several consecutive nights with minima of 54–56 °F. Ensemble forecasts show limited spread, with most runs clustering between 54–57 °F and minimal risk of stronger offshore flow or clear-sky radiational cooling that would push readings lower. The market’s emphasis on the 54–55 °F and 56–57 °F bins reflects this consensus, tempered by typical forecast uncertainty of a few degrees as the event approaches.
