Recent polls show Miljöpartiet and Kristdemokraterna locked in a tight race for voter support ahead of the September 13, 2026, Riksdag election, with both parties typically registering between 6% and 7.5% in surveys from firms such as Demoskop and Novus. This narrow gap reflects their comparable bases—MP drawing from environmentally focused and urban voters, KD from those prioritizing family policy and Christian democratic values—within Sweden’s proportional system where small shifts in turnout or preference flows can alter rankings. The governing Tidö bloc’s performance and opposition Red-Green dynamics add indirect pressure, while the final campaign weeks, televised debates, and any late policy salience on climate or social issues remain key variables that could determine which party finishes ahead. Trader consensus at 50% for MP captures this uncertainty in a contest decided by modest margins.
