Persistent cloud cover and widespread light rain across Chongqing are capping daytime heating on September 19, keeping the highest temperature centered in the 26–28 °C range according to the latest model consensus. Reduced solar insolation from thick stratiform clouds, combined with high humidity and light variable winds, limits surface warming compared with clearer September climatology. Official guidance from Chinese meteorological sources and international ensembles shows only modest afternoon clearing potential, creating tight uncertainty around whether the peak reaches 27 °C or edges to 28 °C. Traders are weighting the balance of these near-term precipitation and cloud forecasts most heavily, with resolution hinging on the final observed maximum at local stations.
