Recent National Weather Service guidance and local model consensus point to a high near 70°F for San Francisco on September 17, driven by persistent onshore flow and a shallow marine layer that limits daytime heating. This setup favors the tightly contested 70-71°F and 72-73°F bins as traders weigh the timing of any afternoon clearing against typical September climatology, where averages hover near 71°F. Key variables include the depth of the marine layer, strength of the sea breeze, and whether stratus burns off early enough for brief solar warming. Updated NWS and NOAA model runs through midday will refine these thresholds and directly influence final market resolution.
