Trader consensus clusters on 66-69°F for San Francisco’s September 16 high because coastal marine layer and onshore flow from the Pacific typically cap daytime warming in mid-September. National Weather Service model guidance shows modest high-pressure ridging competing with persistent stratus and fog, producing a narrow temperature range where small shifts in wind direction or cloud clearance timing can swing the daily maximum by 2-3°F. Historical climatology places average highs near 68°F, but September variability from sea-surface temperatures and upper-level trough positioning keeps outcomes tightly bunched. Updated model runs and afternoon NWS briefings remain the key near-term catalysts that could tilt probabilities between the two leading bins.
