Fuerza Popular secured the largest share of seats in Peru's reinstated Senate during the April 12-13 general election, driven by strong national support for its emphasis on security and economic stability alongside Keiko Fujimori's first-round presidential performance. Official ONPE tallies exceeding 99 percent and recent JNE rulings rejecting fraud claims from smaller parties have reinforced this outcome ahead of congressional installation. The party's plurality reflects voter fragmentation and low turnout patterns typical of recent Peruvian legislative contests. Only extraordinary legal reversals confirming widespread irregularities could realistically alter the result before the new legislature convenes.
