Tsai Yi-yu holds an overwhelming lead in trader consensus for the Chiayi County magistrate race as the Democratic Progressive Party nominee following a decisive January 2026 primary victory with roughly 65% support. The November 28, 2026 election features limited opposition momentum after Puzi Mayor Wu Pin-jui launched an independent bid in July backed by elements of the opposition, though this has not shifted probabilities meaningfully. Tsai Sung-yi and numerous other listed contenders remain at minimal implied probabilities consistent with their marginal visibility in recent campaigning. Traders appear to weigh the DPP's organizational advantages and Tsai's legislative record in the county heavily against fragmented challenges ahead of the vote.
