Forecast models from multiple sources converge on a high near 92°F for Atlanta on August 31 under mostly sunny skies with light southeast winds and only a 20% chance of afternoon thunderstorms, supporting the market's heaviest weighting on the 92-93°F bin. This reflects a continuation of the late-summer subtropical ridge that has maintained above-normal temperatures across the Southeast, with surface highs in the lower 90s running several degrees above the long-term August 31 average of roughly 85°F. Light steering flow and modest boundary-layer moisture limit convective cooling while preventing extreme heat buildup. Updated National Weather Service guidance shows no significant model spread or incoming cold front through the period, keeping the 90–95°F range as the dominant outcome cluster while capping odds on 96°F+ readings.
