Recent National Weather Service and private forecasts indicate Atlanta's overnight low on September 5 will likely settle in the mid-70s, driven by a warm, humid air mass with dew points near 70–72°F that limits radiational cooling under light winds and partly cloudy skies. A 20% chance of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms introduces minor variability, as any lingering cloud cover or brief rainfall could suppress temperature drops while clear intervals allow slightly more cooling. This setup aligns with the current heat wave pattern, where recent lows have held in the mid-70s rather than the seasonal average near 68°F. Updated model runs and evening observations will refine the precise minimum before the market resolves.
