Incumbent Democrat Cisco Aguilar holds a commanding position in the November 3, 2026, Nevada secretary of state race, driven by his narrow 2022 victory over the same Republican opponent and a substantial fundraising edge exceeding $1 million compared to Jim Marchant’s near-zero balance. Marchant secured the GOP nomination in the June primary with roughly one-third of the vote against better-funded rivals, but his platform emphasizing election system changes such as ending universal mail ballots and electronic voting has not shifted broader voter support in a state where the office oversees voting processes. Third-party candidates including Libertarian and Independent American nominees further fragment the remaining field. Sabato’s Crystal Ball rates the contest as likely Democratic, aligning with trader consensus that views Aguilar’s incumbency and resource advantage as durable factors heading into the final weeks of the campaign.
