Persistent northeast winds and extensive cloud cover from a lingering weather system are suppressing daytime heating in Chicago, with National Weather Service forecasts calling for a Monday high near 64°F and only a slight shower chance. This aligns with recent observations of mid-60s readings under similar breezy, overcast conditions, well below the late-September climatological average of roughly 74°F. Model consensus shows minimal additional warming potential before peak afternoon temperatures, positioning the 64-65°F outcome as the market leader while the 66-67°F bin reflects residual uncertainty in exact peak timing or localized heating. Updated NWS guidance and hourly temperature trends ahead of resolution will be the key near-term drivers.
