Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Chicago on September 21, 2026, centers overnight lows in the upper 50s to low 60s under persistent northeasterly winds and lingering cloud cover following recent rainfall and a cool air mass. This setup favors the market's leading 60-61°F bin at 30.5% implied probability, with the 56-57°F outcome at 20% reflecting potential for stronger winds or clearer skies to enhance radiational cooling. Historical September 21 averages near 56°F provide context, while variables such as exact minimum timing, dew points near 55-60°F, and any late-day clearing introduce the observed spread across bins. Upcoming evening observations will clarify resolution thresholds.
