Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus for Los Angeles on September 5, 2026, center on a daily high near 80°F under sunny to partly cloudy skies with moderate southwest onshore flow. This positioning reflects a transition from earlier marine layer suppression tied to El Niño-influenced ocean temperatures, allowing modest daytime warming while coastal breezes limit inland heat buildup. Historical September averages near 77°F provide baseline context, yet recent days’ 76–78°F readings and low precipitation chances support the tight clustering of market-implied probabilities around the 78–81°F range. Key resolution hinges on official LAX or downtown observations, with any afternoon wind shifts or cloud cover potentially trimming peaks by 1–2°F.
