The Chihuahua gubernatorial race for 2027 remains wide open more than a year before the vote, with trader probabilities clustered tightly among a large field of declared or potential candidates. Internal competition within Morena—the party holding the strongest statewide preference in recent surveys—centers on Juárez Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuéllar and Senator Andrea Chávez Treviño, alongside figures such as Martín Chaparro Payán and Luis Carlos Arrieta Lavenant. Opposition contenders including Marco Bonilla Mendoza (PAN) and others from PRI and Movimiento Ciudadano trail in head-to-head testing but benefit from any Morena split. Alliance negotiations, particularly PVEM’s stated preference for Pérez Cuéllar, and upcoming party nomination surveys or conventions represent the clearest near-term catalysts that could consolidate support and widen gaps ahead of the general election.
