**The ongoing pretrial proceedings in Tennessee explain the 74.5% trader consensus favoring "No" on a conviction for attempted murder.** Dalton Eatherly (Chud the Builder) faces charges including attempted first-degree murder, employing a firearm during a dangerous felony, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment following a May 13, 2026, shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville. Court records show the incident began as a verbal altercation captured on surveillance video, with both parties sustaining gunshot wounds; Eatherly was arrested the same day and has remained in custody after bond was set at $1.25 million, later reduced and ultimately revoked in June amid concerns over social media activity. Key developments include multiple May and June 2026 hearings on bond and discovery, with no trial date or grand jury indictment outcome reported as of early August. Legal factors supporting the current odds include standard presumptions of innocence, potential self-defense claims in a mutual confrontation, prosecutorial discretion on plea negotiations to lesser charges, and typical timelines for felony trials in Tennessee that often extend well beyond initial charging. Traders appear to weigh these procedural realities and case-specific evidentiary details against the severity of the charges when assessing the probability of a final conviction.
