National Weather Service forecasts and local observations position a high in the low-to-mid 70s as the most likely outcome for Chicago on September 13, 2026, aligning with the market's 50.5% implied probability for 74-75°F. A cooler air mass advected by north-northwest winds has suppressed temperatures below the 77°F climatological average, with partly sunny skies and only a 40% chance of light afternoon showers limiting further warming. Model consensus from NWS and regional guidance shows little spread, with peak readings expected near midday before gradual cooling. Traders appear to weigh these official updates heavily, as the 72-73°F and 76-77°F bins capture the remaining realistic range given minor forecast uncertainty in wind timing and cloud cover.
