Recent National Weather Service and GFS model runs project a daily high of 79–83°F for Los Angeles on September 14, driven by onshore flow and a persistent marine layer that moderates coastal temperatures while limiting afternoon heating. This places the most likely outcomes in the 78–81°F range, consistent with the market’s heaviest weighting on 78–79°F. Typical September climatology shows an average high near 76°F, so current guidance reflects slightly above-normal warmth without strong offshore winds or clear-sky amplification that could push readings higher. Traders appear to discount outlier warmer scenarios given model consensus on light southwest winds and morning low clouds, with final resolution hinging on the exact peak recorded at official stations before evening cooling.
