Forecast models from the National Weather Service indicate a high near 69–71°F for San Francisco on September 12, driven by gradual clearing of morning clouds under strengthening westerly winds of 15–25 mph that advect cooler marine air onshore while limiting daytime heating. This aligns with the closely matched market-implied odds for the 68–71°F bins, reflecting genuine uncertainty in exact peak timing amid typical coastal microclimate variability and model spread on boundary-layer mixing. Historical September averages near 71°F provide context, but recent trough influence has kept readings cooler than interior valleys. Updated afternoon observations and any revisions to wind or cloud forecasts will likely refine the final recorded maximum before market resolution.
