Latest National Weather Service and NOAA model runs place New York City’s overnight low for September 21 in the low-to-mid 60s, supporting the tight clustering of market-implied odds around 60–65 °F. Primary drivers include a moderating maritime airmass, light southwesterly flow, and partial cloud cover that limits radiational cooling. Ensemble spreads in the GFS and ECMWF show minor timing differences in any weak frontal passage and slight variations in boundary-layer moisture, which can shift the minimum by 1–2 °F. Historical September climatology for Central Park (mean low near 60 °F) provides context, yet short-range forecast uncertainty remains elevated until the final evening observations confirm the exact minimum.
