KMT's March 2026 nomination of Legislator Chang Chia-chun as its candidate for the November 28 Yunlin County magistrate race has anchored trader consensus around her strong positioning. The Chang family’s established local influence, combined with the party’s current hold on the magistracy under Chang Li-shan, has reinforced expectations of continued KMT strength in this traditionally competitive county. DPP Legislator Liu Chien-kuo, nominated as the main opposition contender, trails significantly amid limited recent polling shifts or new campaign developments. With the election still months away, scheduled events such as candidate debates or further endorsements could introduce volatility, though no major late-breaking catalysts have emerged in the past month to alter the prevailing market view.
