The Sonora 2027 gubernatorial race remains open more than a year out, with Morena holding a substantial party-level advantage in available polling while its internal field stays fragmented among multiple aspirants. Javier Lamarque Cano has shown leads or near-ties in recent surveys of Morena preferences, yet candidates such as Célida López Cárdenas, Lorenia Valles Sampedro, and others register comparable support, preventing any single name from consolidating. Opposition parties including PAN trail overall and feature their own dispersed options. This early-stage uncertainty, combined with pending party nomination processes and limited name recognition beyond core bases, sustains tight implied probabilities across contenders in trader pricing. Scheduled internal surveys or primary timelines through late 2026 could begin to separate frontrunners if one builds measurable momentum.
