**Massachusetts voters will decide Question 3 on November 3, 2026, which would replace separate partisan primaries with a single all-party primary where the top two vote-getters advance to the general election.** The measure cleared its final legal hurdle in June 2026 when the Supreme Judicial Court rejected challenges from Democratic Party officials and certified it for the ballot. Both major parties, the Massachusetts Democratic Party, multiple unions, and over two dozen state lawmakers have formed a coordinated “No on 3” campaign, citing risks of reduced party influence, same-party general-election matchups in the heavily Democratic state, and greater donor sway. Supporters, including some moderate Democrats and former officials, argue the change could boost competition and turnout, but recent voter guides and endorsement activity show organized institutional resistance dominating the final stretch. Trader pricing reflects this entrenched opposition ahead of the vote.
