Ohio's Republican lean and Sprague's experience as state treasurer have positioned him ahead in trader consensus for the November 3 general election, though the contest stays competitive with Russo drawing on her record as House minority leader and redistricting critic. Both nominees secured their primaries in May with strong margins against lesser-known challengers. Recent candidate interviews underscore differing priorities, with Sprague stressing election security and continuity while Russo highlights turnover in long-held offices. Ongoing voter roll reviews by the current secretary of state add visibility to administration issues. The presence of a Libertarian candidate and potential late shifts in turnout or messaging could still influence the final outcome before polls close.
