Recent National Weather Service and private model consensus projects mostly sunny skies and light easterly winds for Houston on September 18, favoring afternoon highs in the mid-90s. This aligns with the market's tight clustering around 92–95°F outcomes, as daytime heating under clear conditions typically peaks near 94–95°F at official stations. Recent days have featured similar setups with highs reaching 93–96°F amid above-normal September warmth, while the absence of significant moisture or cloud cover reduces chances for lower readings. Minor model spread in boundary-layer mixing and exact wind speeds creates the narrow gap between 92–93°F and 94–95°F bins, with any slight increase in afternoon mixing or delayed clearing potentially tipping the official maximum. Updated NHC and local forecast discussions tomorrow morning will provide the final inputs for resolution.
