Latest National Weather Service guidance projects a high near 68°F (20°C) for San Francisco on September 5 under mostly sunny skies with moderate westerly winds, consistent with the marine layer’s typical moderating effect in early September. This aligns with the market’s leading 70-71°F outcome at 43.5% implied probability, followed by 68-69°F at 23%, reflecting trader adjustments for possible slight warming from model consensus or urban heat island influences. Historical averages place the date’s mean high at 70.1°F, while recent September readings have hovered in the upper 60s to low 70s without extreme departures. With resolution imminent, updated model runs and afternoon observations will determine the final maximum.
