Recent forecasts from the National Weather Service and other models indicate San Francisco overnight lows near 55–58°F for September 5, aligning with the market’s leading 56–57°F bin at 36% implied probability. Trader sentiment reflects uncertainty in marine layer depth and onshore flow strength, as September typically sees weakening of the North Pacific High and reduced upwelling, allowing milder conditions than peak summer. However, variable wind patterns or lingering moisture could enhance radiative cooling or maintain cloud cover, supporting the sizable 33% odds on 47°F or below. Model consensus remains tight around historical early-September averages of 56°F, with resolution hinging on the next 48-hour forecast updates.
