Flávio Bolsonaro leads trader pricing for first place in the Federal District first-round presidential vote because the region’s conservative voter base has consistently favored candidates aligned with his father’s platform, reinforced by his July nomination as the Liberal Party standard-bearer and August selection of a running mate. National polling averages show him within a few points of incumbent Lula, yet local dynamics in the capital area amplify his edge, with other declared candidates such as Ronaldo Caiado, Renan Santos, and Romeu Zema drawing minimal support in surveys. Recent campaign formalization and intra-family reconciliation have stabilized right-wing consolidation, while Lula’s re-election bid faces headwinds from economic concerns and polarized turnout expectations ahead of the October 4 vote. Market odds reflect this regional skew rather than national totals, leaving room for shifts from last-minute alliances or turnout surprises.
