Recent National Weather Service and private model runs point to a high in the low-to-mid 90s for Atlanta on September 19, with scattered afternoon thunderstorms likely limiting peak heating through increased cloud cover and evaporative cooling. Dew points near 70°F and light northeast winds are expected to sustain elevated heat indices, while steering patterns keep the region under subtropical moisture. These conditions support the market’s clustering around 92–93°F and 94–95°F bins, as traders weigh the narrow window between convective timing and maximum insolation. Historical September averages near 83°F underscore the above-normal warmth, yet model spread on storm initiation keeps lower and higher brackets viable until the next forecast cycle.
