Recent forecasts from agencies including the Met Office and WeatherBug indicate a daily high of 14–16°C for Wellington on September 2, driven by northwesterly flows advecting milder air during the Southern Hemisphere spring transition. Typical early-September maxima average near 15°C, with variability from strong winds and cloud cover influencing diurnal peaks. Model consensus favors 15–16°C outcomes, supporting the market’s heavy weighting toward those bins while leaving room for modest upward revisions if ridge strengthening occurs. Updated runs in the next 24–48 hours will refine land-sea breeze and frontal timing that determine the exact maximum.
