Latest meteorological forecasts from agencies including MetService-aligned models and international ensembles project a daytime maximum of 15°C in Wellington on September 21 under partly cloudy skies with northerly winds around 20–40 km/h and minimal precipitation risk. This aligns with the market's leading 63.5% implied probability for 15°C and secondary support for 16°C, reflecting minor ensemble spread in peak timing and boundary-layer mixing. Conditions sit slightly above the September climatological average high of roughly 12.5–14°C, driven by transient warm advection ahead of an approaching front. Model consensus remains stable in the most recent runs, though small revisions in wind strength or cloud cover could shift the exact peak by 1°C before resolution.
