Official National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on September 9 cite morning showers with 80-90% precipitation chances, limiting solar heating and capping the daily high near 76-78°F amid west-southwest winds and lingering cloud cover. This aligns with climatological September averages around 78.6°F while following a warmer 85°F reading the prior day. Model consensus and recent observations reinforce mid-to-upper 70s outcomes as probable, driving trader emphasis on the 78-83°F range where 80-81°F holds the strongest implied probability at 60.5%. Afternoon clearing could allow modest warming, but persistent moisture and steering patterns constrain upside potential above 83°F.
