Recent polling consistently shows the Parti Québécois leading voting intentions ahead of the October 5, 2026, provincial election, with Paul St-Pierre Plamondon rated highest among leaders as the preferred choice for premier. This positioning underpins trader consensus at 71% for his selection, as a PQ plurality or majority would install him in the role under Quebec’s parliamentary system. Charles Milliard’s Liberal Party trails in second place, while Christine Fréchette’s governing CAQ has seen declining support since her April 2026 leadership win and swearing-in as premier. Lower-probability outcomes for other figures reflect their parties’ weaker standings in recent surveys, with limited movement in the final weeks before the campaign period begins.
