The Chihuahua gubernatorial race for 2027 remains tightly contested in trader pricing, with Marco Bonilla Mendoza (PAN) at 39% ahead of Morena aspirants Cruz Pérez Cuéllar at 23% and Andrea Chávez Treviño at 22%. Internal party processes drive much of the positioning: Morena continues its selection of a “coordinador estatal” through surveys and meetings among registered contenders, while PAN has advanced Bonilla as its nominee. Recent polling averages show Bonilla competitive or leading in hypothetical matchups, reflecting Chihuahua’s history of PAN strength against the federal ruling coalition. President Claudia Sheinbaum’s September 2026 visit and talks with Governor Maru Campos on security and bilateral issues have highlighted federal-state tensions without shifting candidate odds. Further separation could emerge from Morena’s final nomination decision, updated statewide surveys, or major campaign events ahead of the 2027 vote.
