Incumbent Democratic Representative Hillary Scholten is seeking re-election in Michigan's 3rd congressional district, which encompasses Grand Rapids and surrounding areas in western Michigan. The district has shifted leftward in recent cycles, with Kamala Harris carrying it by about eight points in 2024 and Scholten winning her seat by roughly ten points that year. Nonpartisan ratings classify the race as Solid or Likely Democratic. Republicans face an August 4 primary featuring candidates including Ryan Cushman and Terri DeBoer ahead of the November 3 general election. Trader pricing reflects the combination of Scholten's incumbency, the district's partisan voting index, and fundraising patterns favoring the Democratic nominee over potential Republican challengers.
