Incumbent Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow maintains a commanding lead in recent polls ahead of the October 26, 2026, election, supported by high name recognition after her 2023 by-election victory and steady approval near 50 percent. City Councillor Brad Bradford has closed the gap as the main challenger, narrowing Chow’s advantage to single digits in August surveys, while former federal Conservative cabinet minister Chris Alexander’s late July entry has drawn roughly 10 percent support and further fragmented the field. These dynamics, combined with the election’s timing and limited momentum for other declared candidates, underpin trader consensus reflected in current market pricing favoring Chow’s re-election.
