Incumbent Mayor Jeff Fawcett leads the Brandon, Manitoba mayoral race ahead of the October 28, 2026 election, reflecting trader consensus on his incumbency advantage and record of advancing housing additions, economic development partnerships, and infrastructure investments during his first term. Registration opened in May 2026, with Fawcett and challenger Len Isleifson—the only two candidates confirmed for the mayoral ballot as of mid-August—submitting paperwork before the September 22 deadline. Isleifson, a former city councillor and Brandon East MLA, emphasizes public safety enhancements, sustainable growth, and improved community services as core platform elements. Recent municipal developments, including Fawcett’s management of July 2026 flooding and a provincial 911 outage response, have underscored continuity in leadership amid ongoing registration and limited campaign activity from additional contenders.
