Chung Tung-chin holds a commanding position in the Miaoli County magistrate race for Taiwan’s November 28, 2026 local elections, reflecting trader consensus on his incumbency advantage after securing the post in 2022. As the sitting magistrate, his record of local initiatives and recent administrative performance recognitions have reinforced support among voters in a county with established Hakka political dynamics. DPP nominee Chen Pin-an, formally selected in late 2025, represents the primary opposition but trails substantially in implied probabilities amid broader party positioning challenges. Multiple other declared or potential candidates register minimal market traction, consistent with historical patterns where incumbents in similar Taiwanese county contests maintain strong leads absent major late disruptions. The outcome remains subject to standard campaign developments through election day.
