Tennessee's 5th congressional district underwent redistricting in May 2026 that removed portions of Davidson County including Nashville, shifting the seat toward a more Republican-leaning profile and prompting Cook Political Report to rate it Solid Republican. Incumbent Rep. Andy Ogles benefits directly from the new boundaries in his primary matchup against former Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher, while Democratic primary contenders including Columbia Mayor Chaz Molder face structural disadvantages in the general election on November 3. The August 6 primaries remain the next key milestones, with trader consensus reflecting the district's altered partisan composition and historical voting patterns favoring Republican outcomes.
