The September 27 renewal of 178 Senate seats, including roughly half of the Union Centriste’s current 59 members, drives current pricing around 62-64 seats. With 30 UC incumbents facing voters drawn primarily from municipal councils, the group’s centrist positioning within the LR-led majority positions it to absorb modest net gains as Les Républicains anticipate losses of three to five seats and the Socialist group faces mechanical erosion after recent municipal results. Analysts note limited downside risk for UC given its alliances and departmental strongholds, while an emerging far-right group formation could further consolidate the center-right bloc without directly displacing centrist totals. The narrow spread among 56-64 seat bands reflects uncertainty over exact alliance outcomes and RN spillover effects in key departments.
