Incumbent Republican Brenna Bird holds a modest edge in trader consensus for the November 3, 2026, Iowa Attorney General election, reflecting her 2022 victory and the state's partisan leanings. Recent polling from June and April shows narrow leads of four to five points over Democratic nominee Nate Willems, a former state representative, with both candidates securing uncontested primaries. Equal $1.5 million contributions from the Republican and Democratic Attorneys General associations have fueled competitive fundraising, while Bird maintains a larger cash reserve. Policy contrasts, including Bird's emphasis on federal wage theft enforcement versus Willems's plan for a dedicated state division, highlight key campaign differences that could influence turnout or undecided voters in the final weeks.
