Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate a transition from a strong mid-level ridge to easterly flow ahead of a coastal trough, cooling Atlanta's overnight low on September 7 into the upper 60s as dew points drop and cloud cover increases with a 50% chance of showers. This steering pattern and reduced radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies differentiate the tightly bunched 70–75 °F bins that dominate trader positioning, while any faster arrival of drier air or clearer skies could push the minimum toward 68–69 °F and any lingering warmth or delayed mixing would favor 76–77 °F. Historical September 7 lows average 68 °F, providing context for the current market-implied odds reflecting uncertainty in the precise timing of the airmass change before resolution.
