Flávio Bolsonaro's recent Liberal Party nomination and campaign launch events in São Paulo have anchored his position as the leading right-wing contender for first place in the state's first-round vote on October 4. As the endorsed successor to his ineligible father, Jair Bolsonaro, he consolidates conservative and evangelical support in Brazil's most populous state amid a fragmented field that includes lower-polling figures such as Ronaldo Caiado and Pablo Marçal. Incumbent President Lula da Silva maintains a national edge through economic messaging on job growth and debt relief, though his São Paulo performance trails in trader pricing. Tight national runoffs and recent polling volatility around family and scandal-related issues keep the state outcome competitive, with upcoming São Paulo debates and regional turnout patterns likely to determine any separation before election night.
