Flavio Bolsonaro holds a commanding position in Mato Grosso for first place in the October 4 first round, reflecting consistent polling leads of 10–20 points or more over the past several months. Recent surveys, including those from Quaest, Real Time, and others conducted between August and September, show the PL candidate at 40–47% in the state while Lula trails in the mid-20s to low-30s and all other contenders remain in single digits. Mato Grosso’s agribusiness economy and prior strong support for the Bolsonaro family in 2022 underpin this advantage, with limited evidence of late momentum for alternatives such as Ronaldo Caiado or Augusto Cury. A narrow set of developments, including an unforeseen regional surge by another candidate or unusually high undecided turnout shifting sharply, could still alter the outcome before election day.
