Mina Hodzic enters this Athens Open qualifying singles match as the clearer favorite due to her active 2026 singles schedule and WTA ranking near 333, supported by a 25-19 record this year. Hao-Ching Chan, a doubles specialist with a career-high doubles ranking of No. 5 and current standing around No. 42, holds a career singles record of just 6-35 and has played no singles matches in 2026, receiving a wild card entry. Recent form favors Hodzic’s consistent ITF and lower-level WTA appearances, while Chan has focused on doubles, including a first-round Wimbledon exit. Surface, travel, and any last-minute fitness updates remain the main variables that could influence the outcome in this first-round qualifier.
